New York’s nation-leading Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) will require significant changes to our biggest sectors. As the Climate Action Council considers strategies and solutions for achieving these ambitious mandates, NYLCVEF in partnership with Columbia University’s Sabin Center for Climate Change Law is convening a series of virtual forums on each sector to unpack some of our biggest challenges. We held the first forum in this series in August, focused on offshore wind transmission. Check out the video here.
This second forum in the series will focus on buildings, which comprise 30% of our statewide greenhouse house gas emissions and make up a staggering 70% of New York City’s emissions. You’ll hear experts in the buildings sector discuss policy solutions, challenges, and opportunities at both the city and statewide levels.
Panelists (list in formation):
Sarah Burger, PUSH Buffalo
Sophie Cardona, NYSERDA
Marvin Church, Comrie Enterprises
John Ciovacco, President of Aztech Geothermal
Dan Egan, Vornado
Stephanie Margolis, NYC Climate Action Alliance
Bill Nowak, NY-GEO
