On April 28, 2021 the Senate passed a resolution to repeal the Environmental Protection Agency's rollback of new source performance standards for methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. The resolution was passed under the Congressional Review Act, which allows the House and Senate to nullify any recently finalized federal regulation by a simple majority vote in both chambers (subject to presidential approval).
