- Status
- Pending: On September 12, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams launched a plan to cut carbon emissions from the city’s large buildings, “Getting 97 Done.” In April 2024, the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice published a 2024 Progress Report for PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done. The report included initiatives for supporting building owners comply with LL97 emission reduction goals, decarbonizing affordable housing, reducing construction emissions, connecting NYC to clean electricity sources, and assisting building and homeowners with clear energy projects and solar installation.

- LL97 § 3 adds new NYC Administrative Code § 24-803(a)(1)
Statutory Language:
LL97 § 3: "Paragraph (1) of subdivision a of section 24-803 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as amended by local law number 66 for the year 2014, is amended to read as follows:
(1) Reduction of emissions citywide. There shall be, at minimum, a 40 percent reduction in citywide emissions by calendar year 2030, and an 80 percent reduction in citywide emissions by calendar year 2050, relative to such emissions for the base year for citywide emissions."
