President Biden Reinstates Executive Order on Flood Risk Management

On May 20, 2021, the president signed an Executive Order on Climate-Related Financial Risk. Among other things, the order reinstates Executive Order 13690: Establishing a Federal Flood Risk Management Standard and a Process for Further Soliciting and Considering Stakeholder Input, which was aimed at ensuring thatĀ federal investments located in or near floodplains will be resilient in the face of climate change. Executive Order 1390 was signed by President Obama and rescinded by President Trump.
