Florida’s Department of Education has approved the use of material from the Prager University Foundation, a conservative advocacy group, for public school students in grades K-5. PragerU’s CEO, Marissa Streit, says that the videos are an effort to counter the “hysteria” that young children are being taught about climate change.
The decision to allow the use of these materials in Florida public schools has alarmed education experts who argue that PragerU videos distort topics such as science, gender, and history. PragerU’s library includes thousands of videos, many of which include climate denialism talking points and attack renewable energy sources.
