The CLCPA amends the Public Service Law by adding a new section 66-P that requires the PSC to establish a renewable energy program, including the procurement of nine gigawatts of offshore wind electricity generation by 2035.
Statutory Language:
CLCPA § 66-P(5): "No later than July 1,2024 the commission shall establish programs to require the procurement by the state's load serving entities of at least nine gigawatts of offshore wind electricity generation by 2035 and six gigawatts of photovoltaic solar generation by 2025 and to support three gigawatts of statewide energy storage capacity by 2030. "
