On April 7, 2022, the Department of Energy (DOE) updated its energy efficiency standards for new federal commercial and multi-family high-rise residential buildings under the Energy Conservation and Production Act. The April 2022 rule updates the baseline Federal standard to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standard 90.1-2019.
