DOE Proposes Energy Conservation Standards for Distribution Transformers

As part of statutorily mandated update to energy efficiency regulations, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has proposed amended energy conservation standards for distribution transformers, transformers that provide the final stage of voltage transformation from distribution lines to the voltage level used by customers.

On January 11, 2023, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) proposed amended energy conservation standards for distribution transformers, transformers that provide the final stage of voltage transformation from distribution lines to the voltage level used by customers.

DOE is accepting written comments, data, and information on these proposed standards until March 13, 2023.

DOE will hold a public meeting via webinar on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 P.M. Webinar registration information, participant instructions, and information about the capabilities available to webinar participants will be published on DOE's website.
