On June 5, 2021, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) gave a speech to the Republican Women of Greater Wisconsin in Wauwatosa, WI where he called climate change “bull----”. During the speech, he mouthed the full expletive while echoing the position of British climate change denier Christopher Monckton, telling the crowd “I think climate change is -- as Lord Monckton said -- bull----…. by the way, it is.” Johnson, a member of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, has repeatedly refuted claims that he is a climate denier. CNN reported that Sen. Johnson made a clarifying statement the following month, saying “I am not a climate change denier, but I also am not a climate change alarmist. Climate is not static. It has always changed and always will change."
