Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau

Biden Administration (2021-2024)

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau’s Congressional Budget Justification and Annual Performance Plan and Report for fiscal year 2022 mentions the Administration’s climate change agenda as a reason to move filing systems online to eliminate resource waste.

On October 15, 2021, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau published Industry Circular 2021-1, which among other things expanded the list of changes “industry members may make to approved alcohol beverage labels without submitting a new application for label approval” to include adding or deleting “Environmentally Conscious” and “Eco”conscious” from such labels. The phrase “Carbon Neutral” was already on the list of phrases that could be added or removed from approved labels without additional approval.
