USDA Employees Ordered to Delete Web Pages Discussing Climate Change

On January 30, 2025, employees at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) were ordered to delete landing pages that discussed climate change from agency websites and document all mentions of climate change for further review. USDA website managers were told via email to “identify and archive or unpublish any landing pages focused on climate change” by the end of the following day.

The order will affect information on climate-smart agriculture initiatives, USDA climate hubs, and extreme weather events like wildfires and flooding which have recently devastated crops and communities across the US.
