On May 9, 2025, President Trump signed H.J. Res. 42, a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act, into law. The resolution voids DOE’s final rule setting requirements for the energy conservation program for certain consumer products and commercial equipment. 89 Fed. Reg. 81,994 (Oct. 9, 2024).
The resolution was originally introduced on February 12, 2025 by Representative Clyde (R-GA) and was passed by Congress on April 30, 2025.
