Climate and Business Law

The Sabin Center’s Climate and Business Law program develops and supports financial law efforts to address the economic impacts of climate change. The team supports regulatory and policy efforts to facilitate the transition to a net-zero economy and to address climate-related financial risk at the state, federal, and international level. Legal tools around climate disclosure, fiduciary duty, climate finance, systemic risk, and ESG analysis are all areas of active research. The program also includes a focus on the complex intersections of competition policy with sustainability goals and climate resiliency measures, including the reinvigoration of antitrust law as a lever to protect and mobilize markets in response to climate effects. The team has expertise in a range of legal fields that intersect with climate and business law, including administrative law and the First Amendment.
