On April 3, 2025, GSA announced that it has issued a memorandum to tenants of federal facilities as part of the first step in implementing Directive 5605.1B regarding electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The directive requires that, if an agency wants to continue having access to existing EV charging stations, it must make a written determination that EV charging is mission-critical. The memorandum provides criteria with which agencies must make this determination.
