On March 3, 2025, GSA issued Directive 5605.1B pursuant to President Trump's executive order, Unleashing American Energy, regarding electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The directive states that new EV charging stations will no longer be authorized for installation at federal facilities. It also requires that, if an agency wants to preserve access to existing EV charging stations, it must make a written determination that EV charging is mission-critical.
