On October 14, 2026, EPA published an interim final rule extending the deadline for submitting 2025 data under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) from October 30, 2026, to March 10, 2027. The GHGRP requires major sources of greenhouse gas emissions, fuel and industrial gas suppliers, and CO2 injection sites to report annual emissions data. The data supports emissions tracking, state inventories, and implementation of climate-related policies.
This is the second time the EPA has extended the deadline for submitting 2025 data. The extension postpones submission of updated information used to assess emissions trends and inform mitigation efforts, but does not change monitoring, recordkeeping, or other reporting requirements. The interim final rule changes only the reporting deadline and took effect immediately. Comments are due November 30, 2026. 91 Fed. Reg. 65112 (Oct. 14, 2026).
