After finishing law school at Antwerp University in 2002, and specializing in business and fiscal law also at Antwerp University, Annelies' interest turned smoothly into environmental law. Combining great experience as a lawyer, followed by the position of official and teamleader working in the environmental section for the government (local, provincial as well as Flemish government level), she became a practical assistant administrative law at UHasselt, and started her doctoral research in environmental law at UHasselt about ‘the position and legal protection of the third in the case of building permissions’.She became an editor of different juridical magazines about environmental law (TOO, STORM, TROS, Limburgs Rechtsleven) and wrote as an author different articles about juridical moves and changes in environmental law to share experience, inform lawyers and create new legislation. She recently graduated at Antwerp Management School with an Executive Master in Public Management with great distinction, to improve her public management skills, working as a teammanager in the environmental section for the Flemish Government.
