Tracking the Inflation Reduction Act: Benefits to Date from America’s Biggest Climate Investment, and What Comes Next
Webinar on Monday, May 22 at 1:00 pm Eastern Time
The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia Law School and Environmental Defense Fund will host a webinar on Monday, May 22 to discuss progress and next steps with the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), America’s biggest climate investment.
The IRA is designed to put all of America in the driver’s seat in the race to address the climate crisis – from state and local governments to Native American tribes, non-profit organizations, community and environmental justice groups and innovative businesses. The webinar will offer an opportunity to learn about current and future impacts of this historic climate legislation and hear about the many opportunities it provides for all those groups. Participants will also discuss potential challenges around IRA implementation and explore ways to overcome them.
Sonia Aggarwal, former Special Assistant to the President for Climate Policy, Innovation, and Deployment and now CEO of Energy Innovation Policy and Technology, will provide opening remarks. There will then be a panel discussion and a Q and A session with members of the audience.
IRAtracker.org, a joint project of the Sabin Center and EDF, provides the public free up-to-date information about the many quick-moving federal agency IRA implementation activities now taking place. It is designed to highlight where and how eligible entities can make use of the programs established by the IRA, participate in related agency rulemakings, and help lead the way in tackling climate change.
