On October 21, 2021, the Department of the Treasury’s Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) released a new report, “Report on Climate-Related Financial Risk,” in response to President Biden’s Executive Order 14030, Climate-related Financial Risk. For the first time, FSOC identified climate change as an emerging and increasing threat to U.S. financial stability.
