On October 15, 2021, the Department of the Treasury's Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau published Industry Circular 2021-1, which among other things expanded the list of changes “industry members may make to approved alcohol beverage labels without submitting a new application for label approval” to include adding or deleting “Environmentally Conscious” and “Eco-conscious” from such labels. The phrase “Carbon Neutral” was already on the list of phrases that could be added or removed from approved labels without additional approval.
