Shambhavi Thakur is an Assistant Professor of Law at VMLS, Chennai, India. Born and raised in India, her professional career has spanned teaching and researching on legal theory, climate change laws, sustainable development, and environmental laws across jurisdictions of India, United Kingdom, and Australia. During her master's degree in 2023, she contributed as a volunteer researcher at Environmental Justice Australia, focusing on climate change litigation. In 2023, she earned a Master of Environmental Law from the University of Melbourne, excelling in coursework covering climate change law, international law and development, natural resource management, and international settlement of disputes. Shambhavi holds a BALLB (Hons.) degree specializing in International Law and Environmental Law, achieving outstanding grades. She also writes and researches regularly on intersectional discourses to perceiving and addressing climate change and environmental crises. Some examples of her recent endeavours include work on the interaction of caste and race based discrimination with climate change, discourse on representation and environmental crises, and climate change induced migration and the role of SAARC.
