On March 6, 2025, Senator John Curtis (R-UT) introduced S.J. Res. 31, a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act, in the Senate. If the resolution passes both chambers of Congress, it would void EPA's final rule on major sources under the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) program. 89 Fed. Reg. 73,293 (Sept. 10, 2024).
Update: Joint resolution S.J. Res. 31 was passed by Congress on May 20, 2025.
