"Ria"

Ria Das is a human rights lawyer and early career researcher based in India, having extensive experience collaborating with youth and children, indigenous and local communities, and social movements to drive forward collaborative research, advocacy, and strategic litigation efforts. Her work areas are environmental crimes, anti corruption, human rights, illegal detention, juvenile justice to name a few. Currently, she holds the position of the UN's Youth Advisor on Environmental and Climate Justice in the Asia-Pacific region, demonstrating her commitment to advancing environmental causes on an international scale. Additionally, she plays a pivotal role as a Co-Lead of “Networks and Partnerships” for IUCN-WCEL Early Career Environmental Law Specialist Group, spearheading projects and exploring cutting-edge issues within the realm of international environmental law. Her contributions extend to co-authoring research papers with national, regional, and global perspectives, contributing to esteemed institutions, including Oxford University, Berkeley university, University of Southampton, UNDP, to name a few, further solidifying her impact in the field.
