On May 9, 2025, President Trump signed H.J. Res. 24, a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act, into law. The resolution voids DOE’s final rule setting energy conservation standards for walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers. 89 Fed. Reg. 104,616 (December 23, 2024).
The resolution was originally introduced on January 16, 2025 by Representative Bice (R-OK) and was passed by Congress on April 3, 2025.
