On April 20, 2026, President Trump issued five Presidential Determinations pursuant to Section 303 of the Defense Production Act of 1950 and relating to Executive Order 14156 (Declaring a National Energy Emergency), issued on January 20, 2025. These newly issued Determinations variously address regulatory barriers to grid infrastructure supply chains, large-scale energy and energy-related infrastructure, and expansion of domestic natural gas, coal, and petroleum production and deployment. Pursuant to 50 U.S.C. § 4533(a)(7), the Determinations waive the requirements of § 4533(a)(1)-(a)(6) for the purposes of expanding production capability.
