Klara Miran Ipek

"Klara"

Klara is currently a legal trainee at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin. As part of her training she will complete seats at a Berlin-based climate litigation NGO and a Hamburg-based climate law firm. 

Previously, Klara worked as a paralegal in the Environment Team at London-based law firm Leigh Day, with a particular focus on climate change land biodiversity law, and as a research assistant and tutor at the University of Cologne. 

Klara holds an LLB in German and Turkish Law from the University of Cologne and Altinbas University Istanbul, has passed the First State Examination in Germany, and completed a LL.M. at King's College London, where she wrote a Master's thesis on Rights of Nature in Ocean Governance. 

Klara is particularly interested in the nexus of climate, biodiversity and human rights law as well as safeguards of the rule of law and public participation.
