House Republican Introduces Joint Resolution to Disapprove BLM Land Management Rule in Alaska

On July 14, 2025, Representative Nicholas Begich (R-AK) introduced H.J. Res. 106, a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act, in the House. If the resolution passes both chambers of Congress, it would void the Bureau of Land Management's final decision, “Central Yukon Record of Decision and Approved Resource Management Plan” (Nov. 12, 2024), in Alaska. The decision designated 21 areas of critical environmental concern or research natural areas in the covered area.

Update: Joint resolution H.J. Res. 106 was passed by Congress on October 9, 2025.
