Federal Insurance Office Withdraws from the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System

On January 30, 2025, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Federal Insurance Office announced that it has withdrawn from the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System (NGFS). The NGFS is a group of central banks and supervisors that voluntarily work to address environmental and climate risk management in the financial sector. The announcement added that "NGFS was organized to help to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, from which the United States withdrew," and that "NGFS’s initiatives are inconsistent with this Administration’s priorities to grow the U.S. economy and American jobs."
