On July 3, 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) published a notice in the Federal Register removing previous requirements for procedures to implement the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This decision was based on the February 25, 2025, Interim Final Rule issued by the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) that rescinded its regulations implementing NEPA, as well as Executive Order 14154 (Unleashing American Energy).
