On July 13, 2023, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final rule rescinding the 2020 Benefit-Cost Rule. EPA concluded that the changes mandated by the 2020 Benefit-Cost Rule “were inadvisable, untethered to the Clean Air Act (CAA), and not necessary to effectuate the purposes of the Act.”
