On May 23, 2023, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a proposed rule to establish new NSPS for greenhouse gas emissions from certain new fossil fuel power plants and emissions guidelines for certain existing plants. The rule would repeal the Trump-era Affordable Clean Energy Rule and establish stricter emissions standards for certain new and existing fossil fuel-fired power plants.
