On July 8, 2025, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued an interim final rule in the Federal Register that delayed the compliance deadline on National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs) for Coke Oven Batteries and Coke Ovens, from July 7, 2025 and July 6, 2026 to July 5, 2027. The standards were based on revisions to the NESHAPs for the Pushing, Quenching, and Battery Stacks (PQBS) source category.
