On February 14, 2025, EPA announced that it would overhaul the WaterSense labelling system. The program creates an eco-label designed to help consumers understand energy efficient options for showerheads and faucets, labelling products that function as well as alternatives but use less water and energy. EPA's announcement added that the "specifications developed during the last Administration have encouraged the sale of bathroom and kitchen faucets, residential toilets, and sprinkler nozzles that just don’t work well."
