DOI Revokes Pro-Fossil Orders

On April 16, 2021, Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland issued Secretary's Order No. 3398, "Revocation of Secretary’s Orders Inconsistent with Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis." The order revokes secretary's order that are inconsistent with the executive order that President Biden signed on his first day, including a number of orders to promote fossil fuel extraction on federal lands and in federal waters such as an order lifting the moratorium on coal leasing an an order to implement President Trump's goal of promoting domestic production and use of fossil fuels.
