DOE Releases Guidance on Gas-Electric Coordination, and Oil and Gas Infrastructure Permitting

DOE released two studies from the National Petroleum Council, with comprehensive recommendations for gas-electric coordination, and for oil and natural gas infrastructure permitting. The first study, Reliable Energy: Delivering on the Promise of Gas-Electric Coordination, encourages gas-electric infrastructure investment, and supportive market and regulatory frameworks. The second study, Bottleneck to Breakthrough: A Permitting Blueprint to Build, recommends a streamlined permitting process, the expansion of FERC’s regulatory authority, and predictable timelines for natural gas infrastructure approval.
