On May 16, 2025, DOE published a notice of proposed rulemaking to rescind its amended energy conservation standards for dehumidifiers under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. The proposal would return the energy conservation standards for dehumidifiers to a previous, less stringent version of the standards.
