On March 7, 2025, DOE published a notice that it is postponing the effective date of Biden-era energy conservation standards for commercial refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerator-freezers. The effective date of those standards was March 24, 2025, but is now delayed until May 20. DOE’s announcement also invited public comment on “the impacts of such delay, as well [as] comment on the legal, factual, or policy issues raised by the rule.”
