On February 20, 2025, DOE announced that it is postponing the effective date of Biden-era amendments to the Department’s energy efficiency standards for gas-fired instantaneous water heaters. The effective date of those amendments was March 11, 2025, but is now delayed ten days. DOE’s announcement also indicated the agency will take public comment on “any further delay of the effective date, including the impacts of such delay, as well as comment on the legal, factual, or policy issues raised by the rule.”
