DOE issued a notice staying the compliance deadline for regulations requiring that certain new federal buildings and federal buildings undergoing major renovations (including commercial buildings, multi-family high-rise residential buildings, and low-rise residential buildings) reduce their fossil fuel energy use. The notice extends the compliance deadline originally from May 5, 2025, to September 1, 2026. DOE also noted that it is reviewing its recent guidance related to these regulations.
