DOE amended its Title XVII Loan Guarantee Program, expanding the eligibility of fossil fuel infrastructure projects. The criteria were amended in accordance with the Energy Dominance Financing provisions under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The updated project criteria allow emission-intensive projects to receive federal financing for upgrades and continued operation, while removing previous requirements of greenhouse gas emissions reduction strategies.
