Taraneh Kelishadi

Taraneh graduated from Columbia in 2017 with a bachelors in Neuroscience and a concentration in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies. During her time as an undergraduate, she was involved in climate activism both as a student leader and as a writer for youth climate groups in New York City. Upon graduation, she worked for the UNHCR office in New York as a writer, editor, and communications strategist and has since worked on climate-related advocacy projects for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and WHO. She's an applicant to law school in the upcoming cycle and intends to pursue a career in the intersections of asylum and environmental law. She was born and raised in Iran and moved to the United States in 2010.
